"So friends, every day do something
that won't compute. Love the Lord.
Love the world. Work for nothing."

[19] Ducks (and geese)

Today, we spent an hour at the park with ducks. Chasing them, running from them, taking a gazillion pictures of them. Ducks are strangely comforting animals.

[18] Morning Psalm

Psalm 18:28-30

For it is You who light my lamp;
the Lord my God lightens my darkness .
For by you I can run against a troop,
and by my God I can leap over a wall.
This God - his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.

[17]

We spent four hours here today - my grandmother sewing and mending, while I sat and listened to the gentle hum of the sewing machine. She told me about the very first thing she ever sewed, a long white dress with pink roses around the bottom of the skirt. She was my age.

[16]

It's 80 degrees in January. And yet we can still see the snow on the mountains. I love Southern California.
